Analysis of the change in the structure of the Japanese power supply using the GTAP-E-power model

Abstract This study analyzes the effect of change in structure Japanese power supply, which disaggregates sector based on GTAP-E model framework. We analyze impact Japan’s macroeconomy, sector, and industry by comparing results four scenarios. In our simulations, are divided into two periods, shocks introduced to growth rate real GDP, labor force, population, zero-emission supply; nuclear power, hydropower, wind solar other types power. First, simulations from 2011 2018 were performed update GTAP-E-Power database. Next, 2019 2030 for policy scenarios with different rates supply Japan. The simulation show that if Japan maintains same as Sustainable Development Scenario World Energy Outlook 2019, share will achieve government’s target. also an increase has a positive trade balance.
